About Me

I am interested in understanding how emerging contaminants affect biological systems, particularly on invertebrate early life stages. For the past three years I have studied PFAS-free Aqueous Film-Forming Foams (AFFFs) and their effects on the Eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) and Hard clams (Mercenaria mercenaria) with the NOAA/NCCOS Ecotoxicology Branch in Charleston, SC (click here to learn more).

I have also worked on a number of smaller projects ranging from mechanisms of oyster shell growth to developing new anti-biofouling paints and a number of fun side projects along the way!

I was even highlighted by a local news station for my research! Click here to watch!
